THE COOP ADVANTAGE:  Making a BIG Business Sense.

In a highly competitive business environment, every centavo counts; every opportunity to make better with; to do better, adds value to the bottomline. It makes a lot of sense to make sense out of every aspect of our business. Afterall, we ventured into it to make good out of what we started – not to engage in a pastime.

People or Human Resources make up a big part of the business. While it is the main engine to bring in the profit, it is also a major investment to contend with; therefore, every efficient and effective way to utilize this resource counts big in the end.

An emerging trend that proves to make good business sense for companies of varied undertaking is  OUTSOURCING – contracting with a legitimate service provider to do the non core jobs or support functions so that management can focus on the main and strategic processes for  business efficiency and effectiveness. Toward this end, an objective decision is very important – and where SERVICE COOPERATIVE becomes very relevant.

WHAT’S A SERVICE COOP?

It is a primary form of cooperative organized essentially to  engage in providing basic services , among which is Job Contracting. Members possess varied skills and knowhow that can serve the needs of different client companies. Members, as a collective resource, perform the services legally contracted by the Cooperative, which they own but managed, operated, and represented  by their elected and/or appointed officers. It is registered under and supervised by the COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (CDA).

WHY A SERVICE COOP FOR YOUR HUMAN RESOURCE NEEDS?

A.  EASE OF ADMINISTRATION     -  You avoid the burden of the day to day supervision and monitoring of the performance of those doing the repetitive, transactional and support activities or functions which are not part of the main or regular business operations of the company (non core jobs). Your only concern is the result of the services that the provider delivers.

B.  NO FREQUENT TURN-OVER -   No More Repetitive Hiring and Training every 5 or 6 months !!!.  The prevailing practice of contractual appointment requires careful, rigid and cumbersome process of monitoring, administering, and reporting the employment contract of every individual in both the start and end of the engagement. You hire and train, then hire and train again – the process is endless.  You multiply these processes by the number of people you engage and by the number of times you change the contracts every year. With Service Coop, you have one contract and you deal with one Representative.

C.  THEREFORE, LESS COSTLY  -  You avoid the cost of repetitive processes:  sourcing, hiring, training, administration, records management, reportorial compliance.

D. THEREFORE, MORE PRODUCTIVE/EFFICIENT – Since the engagement is premised on the delivery/performance of a specific group of service/s to the client in support of the main or regular business,  the service provider is not limited to the usual five to six months of temporary or contractual assignment. The longer the time the skills are put to use, the more training acquired, then  the more productive, more proficient the service provider becomes.

E.   EFFECTIVELY, LOWER COST OF LABOR  -  Since the Coops are entitled to certain tax exemptions, the cost of the service contract to the Client Company is lower than those which are not in the same category. However, it doesn’t mean the level of benefits and service fees paid to the coop members or the service providers are lower. Each one gets the competitive rate of fees and at least the statutory benefits they are entitled to.

GENERATION ONE RESOURCE:  The BETTER OPTION.

While the name is brand new in the industry, the persons that make up the institution have years of experience in senior leadership roles  in the field of Human Resource, Finance/Business, Sales and Marketing, Restaurant Operations, Retail, and Supply Chain Management from big local and multinational companies. It is founded on the principle of compliance and transparency in managing the business. Therefore, you expect the same professional and responsible conduct of our business transactions and dealings with our clients and members.

  • As a registered Service Cooperative, we are also registered with SSS,PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig and the BIR.  Therefore, the members-service providers are covered by these programs and enjoy the benefits that regular employees in  companies enjoy. We do NOT subscribe to the position of other Coops that the service providers deployed in the client companies are self employed and, therefore , not required to be members/contributors to these government mandated programs.
  • We are also registered with the Department of Labor and Employment as a PRIVATE RECRUITMENT and PLACEMENT AGENCY per Department Order No.18.
